In this hands-on program, your students will explore the science of sound and discover the answers to questions like 'What is amplitude?' and 'What is frequency?' With engaging experiments and interactive activities, your students will learn how sound travels and develop a deep understanding of the principles that govern the physics of sound in language they understand.
Following this 65 minute video & student activities, your students will know:
- Sound is made by vibrations.
- Vibrations can be fast or slow.
- Fast vibrations make high sounds.
- Slow vibrations make low sounds.
- Vibrations can move through objects.
- Short instruments make high sounds (high frequency)
- Long instruments make low sounds (low frequency)
- Frequency determines pitch
- You can have loud or soft sounds.
- Amplitude measures how loud a sound is.
